Andi Mariyasa Septiari

Researcher — Nutrition, M.Sc.

Andi Mariyasa Septiari is a nutrition specialist. She graduated from IPB University (B.Sc) and SEAMEO RECFON, Universitas Indonesia (M.Sc), and works with qualitative research methods including ethnography, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.

She has conducted studies, reviews and evaluations across Indonesia and Timor-Leste, funded by donors including the Asian Development Bank, the Neys-van Hoogstraten Foundation, UNICEF and the Nestlé Foundation. From 2011 to 2013 she managed monitoring and evaluation for a nutrition and livelihood project in Soe, East Nusa Tenggara, as well as in Nias and Poso.

She taught qualitative research methodology in nutrition at SEAMEO RECFON UI for four years and authored a handbook, Introduction to Nutritional Anthropology. Her work has appeared in the Food and Nutrition Bulletin and the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition.
