Mulia Nurhasan

Researcher — Fisheries and Nutrition, M.Sc.

Mulia Nurhasan works at the intersection of fisheries, nutrition and development. She was trained in fish processing technology at IPB University, where she graduated as National Most Outstanding Student, and took her Master of International Fishery Management at the Norwegian College of Fishery Science, University of Tromsø (2008).

She worked with the UN FAO Tsunami Response Team from 2005 to 2006, restoring the livelihoods of fish traders and processors in Aceh, and was among the first national consultants in post-harvest fishery there. She later worked with UNDP and UN FAO on the same coastal economy.

Her doctoral research in Denmark formed part of the WinFood project, testing the efficacy of fish-based complementary food in Cambodian infants and the willingness of households to pay for it. She has published in the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis and Maternal and Child Nutrition.
